Carmen Pervez (Abdullah Shah) was shot in the head on 111th avenue in Edmonton, Alberta today. No information has been released with respect to a shooter which leaves much speculation.

Read any article that you would like it will say what’s written above with a whole bunch of information copied and pasted from previous stories. I’d prefer a real conversation for once.

At the risk of putting on a tin hat (honestly I fucked the police chief’s face on Instagram and Twitter today so I feel like I deserve a little credit), there seems to be real push for everyone who knows anything to be silenced in whatever way fits their position best. Pervez, a crime boss, is likely to meet his end by reaping what he has sown. Beheils, a loyal police officer as far as we know, was told to sit and shut up like a good boy 6 months ago. McIsaac, 6 months prior to that, was given his departure with full retirement and a nice big settlement package(?). I don’t have any confirmation of a buyout. I’m drawing this conclusion from the retirement of previously alleged executives who have cashed their way out of responsibility and into golf.

There is the obvious explanation of course: violent people tend to attract other violent people… it just sits awkwardly for me. Shah runs those areas with brutal enforcement… who would take him out in his own territory?

I won’t celebrate the harm of anyone, this is the realization of a tragedy in a completely new way for me. This man lived a life of violence and terror, his passing would be the calm after the storm for so many residents in the McCauley and Alberta Avenue neighborhoods of Edmonton. Having said that: he is not allowed to go, not like this! You pray to whatever god you believe in that he pulls through for the sake of the future of our city. It’s likely that any information about the moles within the EPS will die right along with him and that is the tragedy that I will mourn. Unless I’ve entirely missed something and he’s prepared contingency plans: he who laughs last doesn’t seem all that far from his style.
