Are criminal organizations in Edmonton protected by high ranking officials of the EPS?

It's a question that has been asked and answered for over 20 years. Each article telling a small piece of the puzzle. Who is Carmen Pervez and why has his name been synonymous with corruption allegations against the EPS? It could be his name changes, the constant threat of violence, or the abuse of legal procedures that have prevented even the most seasoned journalist from telling the whole story. It's been happening for so long, is that alone the most likely scenario?

I'm new to all of this so I have to ask the question... do other

drug traffickers get caught with pounds of product (meth/fentanyl) only to have their charges dropped... regularly? Do they have high ranking police officials on speed dial?

Many officers, their careers now a distant memory, have come forward alleging proof that Pervez has protection from the top. Each one was suspended while the individuals that they named remained on duty or conveniently coasted into retirement; outside the reach of the police act.
